Wild & Wander started the way most good things do- quietly, without a plan, in the in-between moments of an ordinary life.
It began on long walks through Swedish forests and wanders through the British countryside, where I found the thing I now spend most of my free time chasing: calm outside of my hectic city life. Not the big, dramatic kind of calm — the small kind. A cluster of mushrooms on a forest floor. A hare pausing mid-field. A lemon on a windowsill that looked slightly like a polar bear and made me laugh before it made me pick up a brush.
Every piece here is hand-painted by me, no studio, no production line. Just pockets of time spent painting things that caught my eye. For a long time it was a private collection, growing slowly in sketchbooks and overflowing the walls of my home. It's taken years to build up enough to finally share.
I grew up in the British countryside, and I've called Stockholm home for the last ten years — so those two landscapes, in different ways, both feel like mine.
Nature isn't only beautiful — it's also funny and a little absurd if you look closely, and I think it deserves art that remembers that. If something here brings a bit of that quiet, or a bit of a smile, into your home, it's done exactly what I hoped.
Thank you for looking closely at the small things with me.
